Project Outline

Funded by Creative Australia’s International Engagement Fund, Centre for Stories will host a delegation of Singaporean writers and arts workers in April 2026. The project involves developing a full suite of professional, artistic, and fundraising activities to support a five-day international visit.

Outcomes will include a detailed itinerary, culturally relevant support materials, and coordination documentation for both internal staff and the visiting delegation. The project will also contribute to an edition of Centre for Stories’ in-house literary journal, Portside Review, scheduled for publication in September 2026.

Learning Statement

Through this project, the learner will develop skills in international arts project management, cross-cultural program design, and stakeholder coordination. Learning outcomes include understanding best practice in hosting international delegations, designing culturally responsive engagement activities, coordinating multi-outcome creative projects, and aligning program delivery with funding and organisational objectives.

Preparation

Preparation will include reviewing Centre for Stories’ organisational mission and programs, familiarising oneself with Creative Australia funding requirements, and gaining contextual knowledge of Singapore’s literary and arts sector. Background research on cultural protocols, partnership development, and international delegation hosting will also be required.

Deliverables

The final submission will be a comprehensive project document that includes a detailed five-day itinerary, program rationale, activity descriptions, culturally relevant support materials, and internal planning notes. This document will be suitable for use by Centre for Stories staff and the Singaporean delegation and will support delivery of the April 2026 visit and related publication outcomes.
