About this KNoT

During this session, students are expected to share the learning from the course - whether it's your project (ie your Doing KNoTs), your portfolio, or a combination of the two.

Preparation

You can prepare 1 slide beforehand if you would like. You can also go without slides. You might want to plan your 3-minute talk ahead of time.

Some good prompts are:

  • What was a highlight? What was a low-light? And what learning are you taking with you?
  • What was the situation? What was the complication? What was your solution?

Not to freak you out, but there is a well-known competition called the 3-Minute Thesis, where PhD students condense their Thesis (usually more than 50,000 words) into a 3-minute talk. Search it up and check it out. If they can do it, so can you!

What You’ll Learn

See the full task description: Learning Portfolio artefact task description. During the session, we will learn the art of the 3-minute presentation. You may choose to prepare 1 slide without words. There will be time for discussion and Q&A.

How to Complete This KNoT

This task mostly contributes to the class camaraderie. It's great to see what everyone has done.

Writing your reflection

Most completion tasks ask you to reflect on what you did. For example prompts, sentence starters, and what a strong reflection covers, see Guidance on Reflective Practice. Your completed tasks come together at the end of the semester in the KNoT Completion Evidence.
