The annual ANU McCusker Prize in Humanitarian Engineering is now open - https://www.anu.edu.au/students/program-administration/prizes/mccusker-prize-in-humanitarian-engineering - with applications due by Friday Nov 6, 11.59pm.

The McCusker Prize is open to coursework students who have individually or as part of team, worked on a project in an ANU course during 2026 (semester 1 or 2, any session, or whole year) related to Humanitarian Engineering in it's broadest understanding. This covers engineering, technology, software, and computing that has been researched, developed, or used specifically to improve human well-being and quality of life for all. This can relate to disasters, providing essential services such as food, energy, water, shelter or communication, improving access to healthcare, or reducing risks to vulnerable groups.

If you've completed a team project, capstone, individual research project, for-credit internship, McCusker Institute AATD SoCIETIE course, or worked with an external for-purpose partner which has some technology or engineering element, the McCusker Prize could be relevant for you. Up to 3 prizes of $7,500 are available.

An application can be submitted here - McCusker Prize Application Form - applications are due Friday Nov 6, 11.59pm and can be in written or video form.

The McCusker Prize is made available through the generous support of the McCusker Charitable Foundation.
