Project (Doing KNoTs)

Good to Know:

Students complete a project of at least 20 hours (2 points).
Find out more about Doing KNoTs.

The ANU Entrepreneurship Club is the University’s home for student-led innovation and start-ups. We support students in validating their ideas, connecting with investors and start-ups, and developing real-world technology solutions. Through hands-on guidance, networking events and startup-focused programs, we aim to make entrepreneurship more accessible to all. We also host the University’s largest hackathon, bringing together students from across disciplines to collaborate and solve meaningful problems.

Throughout the year, we also run large-scale events with founders, investors and industry leaders. If you have helped lead the planning and delivery of one of these events, your involvement may be eligible to count as a doing KNoT. You may suggest an event to us or look at our upcoming events and help us execute something

The club is entirely student-run and we are always looking for new people to join the team. If you are interested in taking on a leadership role, we open applications at different points during the year. Your contribution may also count as several KNoTS. Open roles are available on the EC website.

Knowing and Being KNoTs

EC Events, such as panel talks or interactive workshops, can count towards Knowing/Being KNoTs. These sessions are designed to help students explore different aspects of entrepreneurship, technology and leadership. We run events roughly every three weeks during the semester and upcoming sessions can be found on our website at anuec.org/events.

Assessment

Good to Know:

Students submit two main assessment tasks, KNoT Completion and a Learning Portfolio.
There are additional opportunities for feedback along the way.

KNoT Completion:

The Entrepreneurship Club KNoT outlines advice for the KNoT Completion Evidence.

Learning Portfolio:

We suggest that students completing a Learning Portfolio with the Entrepreneurship Club select one of the following options:
  • Professional portfolio: a professional, polished artefact that conveys the key outputs of your contribution to a project with the Entrepreneurship Club, where the audience may be a future employer and/or investor.
  • Handover portfolio: a handover document that shares the design, processes, and other useful information about your contribution to the Entrepreneurship Club, where the audience may be a future leader/team
  • Research portfolio: a final artefact that outlines a research-informed analysis of an aspect of the project (ie abstract, hypothesis, background, results, conclusion) where the audience may be a researcher or potential supervisor.
  • Reflection portfolio: a coherent reflection on your contribution to and experience of participating in the ANU Entrepreneurship, where the audience may be a future student or your former self, etc.
