Summary

You are your brand. You have a personal brand, even if you have never thought about it.

Unlock the power of your personal brand with this dynamic workshop designed for McCusker students.

Discover how to telegraph authenticity, consistency, and visibility, and engage in reflective exercises that reveal how you see yourself and how others see you. Learn to show up intentionally, communicate with impact, and align your brand with your core values to create a lasting impression and drive your future success.

Preparation

To prepare for the session, students can start by reflecting on their current personal brand. They can bring examples of personal brands they admire and think about what makes those brands impactful. Well known personal brands include Steve Jobs, Richard Branson and Oprah, but they don't have to be famous, it might be someone from your field who was a strong personal brand that you admire.

They may also wish to ask a few friends and family members for three words they would use to describe them - this is helpful when thinking about how other people see you (e.g. your reputation/ what you are known for).

What participants will learn

Students will learn how to craft and enhance their personal brand by understanding key elements such as authenticity, consistency, and visibility.

They will also gain practical skills in intentional presence, impactful communication, and aligning their brand with their core values to create a lasting and positive impression.

Advice

Google yourself - take control of your online profile.

Create a LinkedIn profile.

Know your values and live them.

Be intentional about how you are communicating your unique value proposition.

Completion

Students will be invited to either reflect on the way they are "showing up" online and in person, and some steps they could take in the next week, month and year to make sure they are positioning themselves the way they want to be for their future success.

Or, they might choose to pick a personal with a personal brand which they admire, and examine how they are "showing up" and the ways they telegraph their values and storytelling.
