Learning Statement
Participants will develop a strong understanding of Australia’s national security environment and government decision-making processes through immersive crisis simulations and the leadership team that enables them. The Summit aims to build leadership capability, strategic and analytical thinking, and effective communication under pressure.
Delegates will also develop transferable skills including teamwork, problem-solving, collaboration across disciplines, and professional engagement with government and industry stakeholders. These skills are applicable across a wide range of career pathways.

Preparation
Note: There will be an information session held in early February 2026 for enrolled students.
While no prior experience in national security, crisis simulations, or government operations is required to addent the Summit event, the leadership team are expected to have engaged with ACSS previously in order to best lead. The Summit is open to all undergraduate university students across Australia and welcomes participants from diverse academic backgrounds, including law, international relations, computer science, engineering, and related fields. All necessary foundational knowledge will be provided through workshops, panels, and guided simulation briefings during the program. Deliverables
The primary completion activity is active participation in the executive team to support the Summit, positioning the ACSS within Government Departments, strengthen relationships across universities and private industry partners, work towards a sustainable student pipeline, and maintaining the student led ingenuity of the Summit.
