Hands Across Canberra is the ACT’s community foundation.
They raise funds for Canberra’s most vulnerable people, they invest the money to make it grow & give it back in grants.
Community foundations are about giving where you live, for the long-term benefit and enhancement of a community.
Hands Across Canberra supports over 350 local charities and community organisations. Together, they're working to solve local problems for local people and build a better Canberra for us all. Sadly, not all charities enjoy the same level of community support and awareness. Smaller organisations can struggle for the support and resources they need to carry out their important work. Hands Across Canberra helps by making sure everyone has access to funds, capacity building and support as they work on the front lines to make our community a better place. Working with the Canberra Foundations Collective, they grant more than 1.5 million each year to local projects and people. Hands Across Canberra also administers the Chief Ministers Charitable Fund and invests funds on behalf of generous locals.
