When asked in an interview, “Tell us about yourself,” many people struggle to know where to begin.

This workshop will guide you to reflect on your unique strengths and value proposition, then craft a clear and compelling personal story.

You’ll walk away with a versatile narrative you can adapt for job interviews, résumés, selection criteria, online profiles, and networking opportunities.

Preparation

Have identified their values using the Values cards available from McCusker or at a values workshop.

What participants will learn

  • Identify their unique strengths, skills, and value proposition.

  • Craft a compelling personal story that highlights who they are and what they offer.

  • Adapt this story for different contexts such as job interviews, résumés, selection criteria, LinkedIn profiles, and networking conversations.

  • Communicate with confidence and authenticity when asked, “Tell us about yourself.”


  • Completion

    Provide your value proposition/ story.

    Provide evidence that you have embedded your story or your unique value proposition into your resume or LinkedIn profile.

    Reflect on where else you may use storytelling for visibility in the workplace.
